On May 15th, 1985, the Kunming Military District awarded the Collective Merit Citation First Class to the 3rd platoon, 2nd Company of the Military Surveyor Unit, which had rendered distinguished service in the surveys for the Laoshan battle. On May 25th, the Kunming Military District again awarded the Collective Merit Citation First Class to the 2nd Company of the Military Surveyor Unit, who had again gained distinction through the final battle. In June, the Chengdu Military District held a grand ceremony for this group and issued them distinction medals and surveyor memorial medals.
