To commemorate the days and nights during the Laoshan battle, certain unit troops issued the “Huaihai Campaign Merit Citation First Class Team” Laoshan Battle Memorial Medal. The appearance of this medal still inherited the basic design from the 1984 Laoshan medal. However, compared to the 1984 medal, the size and thickness of this medal had visibly increased.
